Promotion of Bilateral Cooperation between I. R. of Iran and Azerbaijan in ICTs

The two-days meetings of working group on development of cooperation between delegations of I. R. of Iran and Azerbaija headed by H.E. HosseinFallah Joshaghani, deputy minister of ICT and President of CRA of Iran and H.E. Almar Wali Zadeh, Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan from 15 to 16 May 2019 at Baku, Azerbayjan ended with signing of the cooperation protocol between the two countries

Experts from the two countries explored and discussed joint areas of bilateral and multi-lateral cooperation in ICTs including cybersecurity and cyberspace, space and satellite, infrastructures, postal services and other ICT-related issues. To achieve more satisfactory outcomes, the issues under discussion were classified into six categories, each of which were examined and discussed in separate working groups by the experts of the two countries to be put into practice.

H.E. Fallah Joshaghani, deputy minister of ICT and president of CRA announced the plans addressed by the meeting including frequency management, bilateral cooperation to avoid interference in border areas, monitoring mobile signals in borderlines, assessment of unwanted roaming, management and control of broadcasting signals in accordance with international radio regulations.

H.E. Almar Wali Zadeh, deputy minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan also stated that development of bilateral cooperation concerning ICTs is one their important aims in this negotiations. Among their other main aims he expressed improvement of current bilateral cooperation, endeavor to promote multilateral regional cooperation.
